SHEPHERDING GROUPS

WHAT IS A SHEPHERDING GROUP?

Our goal is to better serve our church family by providing a more effective means by which every individual family at AICF is shepherded; in other words, vitally cared for, nurtured and inter-connected with others through the ministry oversight of our elders.  Individual needs, problems, issues and concerns are also addressed in the ongoing process of the spiritual growth of our church family in the making of reproducing disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

WHO IS IN A SHEPHERDING GROUP?

Our church family is evenly divided into several ‘Shepherding Groups’, with each family shepherded by one of our 6 elders: Terry, Mike, Jeff, Hank, Jay or Vern.

WHAT DOES AN ELDER DO WITH HIS SHEPHERDING GROUP?

The spiritual oversight of the ‘Shepherding Group’ includes:

  1. Offering specific prayer support

  2. Making periodic personal contact: care calls, notes of encouragements, hospital visits, etc.

  3. Serving as a communication liaison with other elders and the pastor regarding any special needs and/or assistance (e.g. Benevolence Fund, Prayer Chain, Meals Ministry, etc.)

  4. Building new relationships with newcomers, including them in the life & ministry of AICF

  5. Creating new opportunities to meet the growing needs of our church family

As your leaders, we desire to better serve our church family.  If you’re a regular part of AICF, you are already included in one of our Shepherding Groups.  Your elder is always available, and please know we count it a privilege to serve you as a vital part of His church family here at AICF.

Blessings,

The Elder Board
